Efor takes action for cancer research through the "Get Your Sneakers On" challenge

At Efor, our commitment to health goes far beyond our activities in life sciences. Every year, we strive to support initiatives that give meaning to our collective actions. With this ambition in mind, our employees around the world laced up their sneakers to take part in the 9th edition of the “Get Your Sneakers On” solidarity challenge, organized by the Centre Léon Bérard in support of cancer research.

From June 1 to June 21, 262 Efor employees worldwide came together to take part in this inter-company challenge combining physical activity, prevention, and solidarity.

A collective commitment in support of research

Whether walking, running, cycling, or simply staying active every day, our teams once again demonstrated the power of collective engagement:

• 32,170,564 steps logged 👣
• 25,199 kilometres covered 🌍
• 81,362 points earned 🏆
• €9,000 donated to cancer research 🤝

A special congratulations goes to Efor Belgium, which stood out as the top-performing Efor team during this edition.

Every step taken, every challenge completed, and every point earned directly contributed to funding cancer research carried out by the Centre Léon Bérard.

A challenge that goes far beyond sport

Created in 2018, the “Get Your Sneakers On” challenge has become a key event for companies wishing to take concrete action against cancer. Since its launch, more than €1.1 million has been raised to support adapted physical activity programmes for patients, innovative research projects, and the acquisition of state-of-the-art equipment for the Centre Léon Bérard’s research platforms.

Beyond the sporting aspect, this initiative also helps raise awareness about prevention and highlights the benefits of physical activity on health through educational content, quizzes, and collaborative challenges offered throughout the event.

A long-standing partnership

Efor’s participation in “Get Your Sneakers On” is part of a long-standing relationship with the Centre Léon Bérard, a leading institution in the fight against cancer and an internationally recognised research centre. Efor is among the Centre’s Major Donors, demonstrating a long-term commitment alongside the medical and scientific teams working every day to advance cancer research.

On June 24, our teams had the pleasure of attending the closing breakfast organized at the Centre Léon Bérard, alongside other participating companies and the Centre’s staff. It was a meaningful opportunity to celebrate everyone’s commitment, meet some of the researchers we help support, and reaffirm our determination to stand alongside the Centre year after year in a cause that affects us all.
