Efor becomes a patron of Centre Leon BERARD and commits to the fight against cancer

In addition to the day-to-day support we provide to our clients in the Life Sciences sector in developing and securing their products, we are keen to play an active role in the health sector, whether through medical research or patient care.

That’s why we’re very proud to support the Centre Leon Berard, the Rhône-Alpes region’s cancer center in Lyon

The Centre Leon Berard : A century-long story in the fight against cancer

Founded a century ago in Lyon, the Centre Leon Berard has become an important player in the fight against cancer. With over 40,000 patients and more than 2,000 researchers & doctors, Leon Berard has a great ambition : to shorten the time between laboratory discoveries and their concrete application in the medical field, for the benefit of current and future patients.

A shared ambition : innovating together

Efor and Centre Leon Berard share a common ambition : innovation in the fight against cancer.

To give concrete expression to this commitment, Efor has provided financial support of €50,000 for a research project aimed at improving the management and efficacy of treatments for non-menopausal breast cancer patients. This project responds to an urgent need to identify new therapeutic targets in order to reduce the risk of relapse linked to the hormonal resistance observed in certain breast cancers.

A long-lasting and varied partnership

This sponsorship is a real commitment both in terms of duration and variety of actions. In addition to funding this research project, which is very close to our hearts, we will be working alongside the Centre Leon BERARD on other projects, notably by taking part in the La Scintillante race on October 8, or by considering setting up a skills sponsorship program

Enriching encounters and fruitful collaboration

During the visit to the laboratories of the Centre Leon Berard, we had the opportunity to meet key figures such as Patrick MEHLEN, Director of the cancer research center, Cécile VERCHERAT, Operational Director of Research, and Olivier TREDAN, medical oncologist and researcher on the supported project. This meeting established valuable links and strengthened the collaboration between our two entities.
